Scary #31

In a weird way, I think Remus Lupin was correct when speaking to Harry Potter about fear itself is what he most fears.
I often feel that way too. I'm scared of being scared. I'm afraid of being afraid.
Though most everything else I've talked about this month I don't like, I don't think I actually hold a deep fear for.

The Scariest Costume EvEr

I just want you to know, the following image is quite frightening.
It just may be the scariest costume I have ever worn.
Brace yourselves, it really is quite something.
Are you ready?
Are you sure?
It's a bit graphic?
Okay.
I'll let you see it.

See!
I told you it was scary!

Scary #23

So, I've been standing in this "place" for quite some time now. I don't know which way I should "go". I'm scared that if I go "left" I'll regret it the rest of my life. But I think I know what I'll get if I go that way, and it's not horrible.

If I go the "right" way, uncertainty is waiting for me.

I shirk from decisions. Especially life altering ones.

Scary #21

I'm okay being in the dark. What I don't like is being outside alone in the dark. That's what I really don't like.

Scary #20

So this weekend I went to a haunted corn maze.

I'm not particularly fond of anything with "haunted" in the name, but it's something I've never done before, so I sucked it up and went.

I hated it the entire time I was in it.

After I was out however, I thought the maze was just fine.

Scary #17

I don't want to get old. I'm already feeling at times my body is failing me. Can you imagine 50 years from now? Me either!

Scary #16

I may never find this.

Scary #15

I have never enjoyed haunted houses.
Ever.
Since I was a little girl.

Scary #14

I hate grades. All they tell you is whether or not you succeeded in impressing a teacher. Rarely are they a reflection on what we really know. However, when I don't get the bright red grade, I start to have a hard time breathing. I don't like seeing the other letters.

One Good Movie

I just got home from the movies. I went to the movie theatre by myself, so naturally, I was feeling a little sorry for myself. I saw an ad for this movie during General Conference, and let's just say my interest was piqued.

Well, I have to say this movie was well worth the money!

One Good Man made my day, and my week, and my month, and very possibly my year, but that's pushing it.

I am really sensitive about the issues raised in the movie, due to my lack of "mormon-ey influences" in my life. (I couldn't think of a good way to say that.) I had the whole movie theatre to myself, and I for the life of me, cannot think of why. This movie is A-mazing! Truly inspiring, and worth the time.

I cried, a lot. Maybe because the challenges faced in this movie are somewhat real to me. Maybe I could empathize a little. Maybe because I was envious. Whatever the reason, I am SOOOOOO glad I saw it. Made me realize there is a lot more to life than we realize.

I will say this, however, so you don't go see it and then get mad at me. The acting at times is a little cheezy, and not the best. But please, for me, go see this movie.

I'll give you a little teaser, ready?
I cried A LOT when Aaron (the main character) goes to the Temple for his daughter's wedding.

When you see the movie, you'll understand why.

And the other thing you all need to know: I NEVER cry in movies. The last movie I cried in was Charly.

So now, go watch this A-mazing movie, please?

Scary #13

What if I never achieve what God has available to me? What if I stay a spindly tree, when I have the potential to be huge?

Scary #12

I'm really scared about being a mother.

Having the responsibility for another human being, and teaching them the essentials to succeed in life, and protecting them from the evils in this world... It's terrifying.

Scary #11

Failure.

We're all going to experience it, but I'm scared of it in the all-encompassing way. I'm scared that I'm going to fail at life, fail as a teacher, fail as a mother.

I really want to be good at all of these things, so it frightens me that I might not.

Scary #10

I'm really scared of having a child. I'm excited, but scared.

(Not like it's happening ANY time soon, just in case you were wondering.)

Scary #9

I'm really scared that when I start teaching, I'm going to hate it.

Scary #8

Mistakes.

I fear making mistakes, of anykind.

It's a dumb fear, I know. Everyone is bound to make a mistake, but I fear making them.

Maybe for the consequences that will face me once I've made the mistakes, or maybe I just want to pretend I can be perfect.

I don't really know.

Happy Birthday Tobin

My wonderful nephew was born two years ago today.

What a joy he has been in my life!
He LoVeS birds and his Aunt-T!
He is super smart and knows how to get what he wants... (not always a good thing)
He is not cuddley, and has never enjoyed being held (sad day for Tiffany)
He enjoys being outdoors, and could stay out in the yard from sun up to sun down if we let him.

I love you Tobin!

Scary #7

I start my new job today.

That's pretty frightening to me.

Scary #6 : Government

I'm really scared that one day, I'm going to wake up, and WWIII is going to have started overnight.
I don't really trust "the people in Washington" to protect me, because they have definately displayed lack of respect for my needs.

Scary #5

Is it weird that the one thing I want most in life, scares me the most?
I want to be married, when the time is right, but the idea scares me so much I almost don't.
That's pretty scary if you ask me.

The Dark.

I'm not particularly fond of being alone in the dark. No bueno.

Goals for October

So in a better time in my life, I used to write out goals every month of things I wanted to work on. I have been neglecting this practice for some time now, and I've decided I need to do this again.

I figure, maybe, by posting my goals to the world, I may actually better achieve them.

#1. Finish all of my homework before the day it's due.
#2. Spend $100 or less this month for everything. (Groceries, gas, clothing, extras)
#3. Make my bed every day, or at least every other day...
#4. Keep my room picked up and clean.
#5. Keep my desk cleared off.
#6. Go to bed at a reasonable time: 9:00-10:00
#7. Wake up at a reasonable time: 6:00-7:00
#8. Work out at least once a week. Perferrably 4x/week, but at least once a week.
#9. Vacuum once a week or more.
#10. Do my hair at least once a week. (As in more than a ponytail.)
#11. Talk to my family, aka Brent and Kale at least once a week.
#12. Reduce my Dr. Pepper consumption to 1 a day or less.
#13. Eat at least one fruit and one veggie a day.
#14. Pack my lunch to work and school so I don't get hungry.
#15. Make it home at least once this month.

I have other goals, like: get through Poe in the Dark without turning gray, but the above are ones that I need to do consistently, like after this month.

Wish me luck.

Scary #3 : Fish Out of Water

I love fish. Everything about fish, in water. I have goldfish and a betta in my apartment. My betta is my favorite. There is something special, magical about fish. But when they are out of water, (like when I accidentally poured my beta onto my desk instead of into his bowl) It scares me to death.

I don't really know why. Maybe because I think of them not being able to breath, because my lungs get caught in my throat and I freeze, and it is very hard for me to help my suffering friends out.

Scary #2 : Snakes

Snakes.

I just don't like them. At all.

I didn't mind them when I was little, and I mean really little.

I started to get really scared of them when I was... 8ish? Because I was within inches of a rattlesnake bite.

Now: I don't even like the fake rubber ones that you find at the store that look fake. That's how much I don't like them. (Let's hope I don't have too many boys for children :S)

Incidentally, this is what I found in the closet when I moved in.

(I feigned braveness until I realized it was fake.)

Scary #1 : Moolah

That's right, money scares me.

Especially right now.

I am in my last few semesters of college, the media is constantly hammering on about the economy and how bad it is, etc.

I can't finish school without money. I can't get money without a job. I can't get a job without finishing school. Horrific cycle.

I am lucky enough to say as of right now I have no student loans.

I am trying to keep it that way.
